My culinary career started at my mother's side, as she was a harried single mom and needed help. Starting the slow-cooker at 8 became cooking stir-fry for my brother, mom, and I as a teen. Family dinner is still a subject dear to my heart.
A rad cafe job in my early twenties inspired me to attend culinary school. I'm proud to be a graduate of the New England Culinary Institute's Baking and Pastry program. A series of fortunate incidences helped me secure an internship working for The Food Network's Good Eats and led to a career working with Alton Brown as part of his culinary team. I now work as a freelance recipe developer and food stylist in the greater Atlanta area.
I started Stir and Scribble as a creative space for my personal writing, recipes, and photography. With time it evolved into a place to share a drink, a laugh, and recipes from my kitchen. It has also become a place to share my journey as a newly wed, feeding a small family, and avoiding growing up.
I live and work in Atlanta, Georgia with my husband Brian, our two children, and two very lazy dogs.
I sincerely appreciate you stopping by Stir and Scribble and that you took a few minutes to get to know me. I love to read your comments, answer questions and hear about your favorite family recipes {especially the ones that don't work, yet}. Feel free to contact me at stirandscribble[at]gmail[dot]com.
