{This is not the beginning of S&S turning into a baby blog or even a baby food blog; But in the interest of sharing everything I know/am always learning about food, I want to document my experiences in feeding Ella during her first year.}
Ella is 4 months this week! She is growing like a weed, happily chugging formula and burping like a champ. In just a few weeks, she'll be introduced to baby cereal and then a cornucopia of vegetable and fruit purees. I am beyond excited! I've been reading, researching, and finding recipes, but I've also been doing a little bit of window shopping for all the non-food supplies that Ella will need once she's a little eater. Pictured above are my favorites - some of which we own and others I just dream of owning. I've added a few more favorites to the Feeding Baby Pinterest board too. I'm going to start freezing some purees this weekend - so I'll be ready when she's ready.
Oh, and if you've been following this series at all and wondering why we haven't talked formula and bottles, here's the long and short: Your baby likes what she likes. Ella drinks best with the Nuk Bottles and pacifiers in medium flow. We tried Medela, Dr. Brown's and PlayTex before we found these. Also, she's on the Similac Alimentum since she's had so much trouble with gas that may or may not be allergy related.
The Hamilton Beach Mini Blender was given to me as a gift while I was pregnant. I love it for making smoothies and small batches of puree. Its easy to clean and store. I am happily giving one away to a lucky reader!
Comment below by completing the phrase, "I like to blend up..." Tweet, or share the giveaway for multiply entries.
I will choose a random winner next Wednesday 5/16.
Also I'm not affiliated with Amazon {though, I probably should be} I'm just busy and chose the quickest links to each of these products. But if you're a new mom check out Amazon Mom to save some pennies {and dimes and dollars too} on baby's needs.
I was wondering how do I enter the giveaway?

ReplyDeleteHi Meghan, looks like I've been out of touch since the cookie swap! Congrats on your new little one! I love that counter drying rack too...in fact we have two of them! This is a great post for new moms. I just read your post about struggle with breastfeeding too and think that you made a perfect decision, albeit difficult. I hope you are settling in and loving mommyhood!
ReplyDeleteAnd the blender, man there's a billion things I could make with it, but we sure make a lot of smoothies in our house with the immersion blender. This would allow me to make more than one at a time!
I looove blending oatmeal and bananas together :) tastes like a banana bread smoothie :)

ReplyDeleteI like to blend up banana and anything! Lately I'm into banana and pineapple together. Doesn't sound great at first, but the flavors are really good together. Very tropical!
ReplyDeleteBanana and pineapple sounds amazing. I'm so glad y'all had such a great trip. I've been thinking about a Dole whip ever since you posted the picture on instagram! I've never even had one, but now I feel compelled to try making one!
