Punch is quite under-rated. Much like the cake-to-cookie relationship - Punch is often passed over for the sexier sangria or a strong cocktail. I get it - punch is a little less sophisticated but dang, punch is fun!
Making fruit water has become my new summer saver - and not just for pairing with booze. Fruit pureed and strained makes a great alternative to water and also makes delicious ice pops.
Ginger Watermelon Punch
makes 8 servings
4 cups watermelon juice, instructions follow
12 ounces strong ginger ale, we love Red Rocks
12 ounces soda water
1 cup tequila
1/4 cup orange liquor
1 lime, juiced
Combine all and chill for one hour. Enjoy cold over ice, on a porch swing.
For Watermelon Water:
Puree 6 cups cubed watermelon (about 1 personal-sized watermelon) until smooth in a blender or food processor. Strain the resulting liquid through a fine mesh strainer and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
This sounds amazing! I'm gonna have to make this one.
ReplyDeleteIs it ok that I just want to make this punch and then stick my entire head in the punch bowl. This is happening... totes probably this weekend.
